Reutech Radar Systems recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a function for clients and stakeholders at Overture Restaurant, on the Hidden Valley Wine Estate outside Stellenbosch.
The luncheon function included various addresses by previous CEOs and key clients. Helmoed Römer-Heitman delivered the keynote address, focusing on the South African Defence Review. Reutech Mining’s distributors from North America (Mala Geosciences) and Australasia (Rock Australisia) also attended the celebrations.
“25 Years ago a small company was formed to design and build radar systems. Although it lacked proven engineering and radar experience, the abundance of raw talent, energy and can-do attitude, resulted in the establishment of a unique and credible radar system house today, supplying radar products and solutions globally. This meant a gradual shift from learning through R&D, towards concept and prototype engineering, towards small scale production, to a stage today where the production of niche solutions is a significant part of the business”, says Carl Kies, current CEO.
A book, celebrating the 25 years, will be published at the end of this year.
